ROAD DEATHS IN ABU DHABI
Accidents in Abu Dhabi have left the authorities of that state wondering why? Finally, they have found the source after so much time and effort. Quite shocking; keep reading to find out!
That reason is…….The defence isn’t as complicated as you might get the impression. Despite being issued several warnings by fines and creating some rules, this is repeated, and the deaths continue like a routine.
Found out yet? Well, take a guess. Seat belts!! That’s it, only seat belts. How hard is it really to fasten your seat belts? It barely even takes a minute. Believe it or not, this is the reason why. Although they have decreased, in 2017, reckless drivers’ behaviour is still a concern.
Thirty-nine thousand nine hundred fifty-six fines were given to drivers for violating these seat belt rules in the first nine months of 2017. This caused 60% of the accidents and road deaths during that period.
Brigadier Ahmed Al Shihhi, deputy director at the traffic directorate of the police, said, “Wearing seat belts reduces the impact of injuries in case of accidents, and ignoring it poses bigger dangers. The traffic police continue to spread awareness among motorists about the importance of wearing seat belts and how they can protect their lives in case of accidents. “If the driver or passengers fail to buckle up while driving in the car, a fine of Dh400 will be levied on each of them, and four black traffic points will be registered under the driver’s license,” Al Shihhi stated.

Lieutenant Mohsin Al Mansouri, deputy director of the Al Ain traffic department, had passionately asked the motorists to obey road traffic rules for their safety and the safety of other road users. It’s for your good!
Lt. Al Mansouri said the seatbelt is one of the most important safety tools that help reduce injuries and increases a person’s survival opportunities in case of accidents.
Deaths caused by traffic accidents have reached 315 in the first half of 2017, revealed the General Directorate of Traffic Coordination of the Ministry of Interior on Sunday.
Brigadier Ghaith Hassan Al Zaabi, Director General Traffic Coordination General Directorate at the Ministry of Interior (MoI), said the decrease in traffic accidents, deaths and injuries has a lot to do with the efforts and ongoing initiatives by the UAE leadership, the Ministry of Interior and the Police, who are raising the awareness of traffic safety.
Please do not neglect or ignore these rules, as they are for your safety and can save the lives of others and you. Even though deaths have decreased and increased over time, let’s hope they stay at a low frequency. Most tests conclude that youth are mostly behind these deaths but not always, so parents and children out there, be careful. We can make this world a better place for all living things with these little things! So don’t be afraid to take the pledge! It’s up to us!
On the other side, if you ever want to sell your car, you will not get a reasonable price for your vehicle because of this accident, or if you’re going to keep this car, you have to pay a lot of money to fix that car for car registration renewal to pass from RTA. So drive safe for others and yourself.
