The Brand New 2024 Tesla Model 3 Review: The Finest Everyday EV Out There

The new 2024 Tesla Model 3 is finally here with significant updates, its first major revision since it came out almost 7 years ago! The Model 3 is a full-fledged EV (electric vehicle) and one of Dubai’s most popular electric cars. Moreover, it is Tesla’s most compact and economical car, sitting right below the luxurious Model S, Model X, and Y SUVs in its all-electric lineup. However, Tesla has pushed the boundaries of technology and sustainability with its latest iteration of the Tesla Model 3. This comprehensive review will briefly review the new updates and features implemented into the Model 3.

New Sleek Design of Tesla Model 3

The new model 3 is built on the original design; however, it boasts a much more modern look in the 2024 model. The updated model 3 features a new tail light design with a more sleek front end. The car also has a new, refreshing wraparound design for the dashboard with built-in ambient interior lighting. Rear passengers have access to the infotainment and temperature controls on the all-new 8-inch screen at the back of the car, but the primary 15.4-inch touchscreen remains almost unchanged. Moreover, ambient lighting and ventilated front seats are now standard features.

Tesla Model 3 variants

The fully electric 2024 Tesla Model 3 is offered in two different editions: The base and long-range versions. Which version is better? The base model comes with a wide variety of standard features and is a worthy option if you plan on making something other than long-distance journeys. However, suppose you’re aiming for cross-country trips or don’t live in densely populated compact cities like Dubai. In that case, we suggest switching to the long-range version. The Model 3’s more extended range and faster maximum charging speeds make it a superior choice for long-distance travel. Something to consider: the long-range variant has all-wheel drive and more horsepower, too.

Tesla Model 3: Standard model features

  • Rear-wheel-drive (RWD)
  • Ambient internal cabin lighting
  • Ventilated front seats
  • Keyless entry and ignition
  • Heated steering wheel, back and front seats
  • Panoramic glass roof
  • Wireless charging dock for two smartphones
  • 15.4-inch touchscreen at the front for navigation and an 8-inch touchscreen for the rear passengers. It comes pre-installed with many apps and games.
  • A nine-speaker sound system with integrated audio and video streaming services is available.
  • Tesla’s world-renowned Autopilot feature which comes with 3 different advanced driver aids:
        • Forward collision warnings to warn the driver of an incoming collision and stop the car in certain situations.
        • A lane control system helps keep the vehicle centered in its lane by making minor steering corrections.
        • The classic Adaptive cruise control maintains a driver-set distance between your Tesla and the car in front.

Long Range model features:

It adds to everything in the base model and below:

  • Increased max charging rate to 250 kW (faster charging)
  • A much more luxurious sound system with around 17 built-in premium speakers.
  • Increased range up to 358 miles (272 for the base model)
  • Enhanced Autopilot with integrated navigation capabilities for highways
  • Automated parking
  • Ability to fully auto-pilot the car

Performance

The most recent and newly updated Model 3 is still a performance powerhouse with even more aesthetic enhancements. The four-wheel drive Long Range variant of the Model 3 has an improved dual motor system that allows for faster acceleration, going from 0 to 60 mph in 4.2 seconds, which is quite a significant improvement over its predecessor. The base rear-wheel-drive model can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in a swift 5.8 seconds. That’s comparable to a base model BYD seal or BMW i4 and considerably faster than the comparable Hyundai Ioniq 6. This increase in speed does not affect the car’s energy efficiency; in fact, the 2024 Model 3 keeps up its excellent one-charge mileage range. The fear of having an electric vehicle with insufficient range is no longer a problem thanks to the base version’s remarkable EPA estimated range of 272 miles and the Long Range variant’s remarkable 358 miles.

Pros

  • Outstanding handling, efficiency, performance, and range
  • Accessibility of Tesla’s extensive Supercharger quick-charging facilities
  • Plenty of room for passengers, ample luggage space, and comfortable seating

Cons

  • Few may find some features of the interface annoying
  • Poorer interior quality compared to competitors
  • Android Auto and Apple Carplay aren’t supported

Alternative cars

Here are some competitors to consider if you are looking for alternatives to the new model 3.

  • Polestar 2
  • BYD Seal
  • BMW i4
  • Mercedes-Benz EQE
  • Hyundai Ioniq 6

These are pricey but worthy alternatives to the Model 3 if you want a luxury electric vehicle.

Overall, A Fantastic Experience For It’s Price

The new Tesla Model 3 is better to drive than ever. It is now more polished and quieter at faster speeds, and it is more pleasant to drive over bumps thanks to its newer updates. Driving the Model 3 around town is an enjoyable experience thanks to its silent motors and lighter controls. However, it’s even simpler to drive on freeways thanks to the optional enhanced autopilot feature, which essentially allows the vehicle to drive itself as long as you keep your hands on the steering wheel. The autopilot system automatically manages when to brake, accelerate, and steer so you can maintain a safe distance between you and the other cars. Moreover, the feature also allows for automatic lane change whenever you indicate it. Though it sounds great, this is an expensive add-on.

Overall, the Model 3’s abundance of tech-savvy gadgets makes the more costly Model S look like an extravagance. Even though the Model 3 is the newest in the Tesla lineup, its sleek appearance, futuristic yet functional interior, and performance that rivals that of a sports car make it one of the best electric vehicles available on the market and a serious contender to replace the luxury saloon mainstream EVs.
